We have successfully re engineered the design and successfully manufactured cnc turning od grooving tool along with special profile carbide insert. The customer was facing issue of insert and holder life. After close coordination with our out station customer on-line, we embarked on this project and re-designed the profile of the OD grooving carbide insert and the tool holder. Our scope of work was to give complete solution of the od grooving operation with a target of improved life. After successful trial it was observed that our tool holder and insert has improved the finish of the profile OD groove as well as the insert life with very encouraging results. Being a plunging operation, it is difficult to achieve good surface finish but we could do it !
